Weather resistance appears for the first time in the X100 Series when the optional AR-X100 adapter ring and the PRF-49 protection filter are used in conjunction with the X100V’s brand new lens. Fuji's cameras, and this X100V, have color palettes strongly optimized for skin tones and portraits. These include the new ‘Classic Neg’, which has a punchy, vintage look that works particularly well when shooting metallic objects, and the collection as a whole makes a great starting point for those who want to give their photos an extra dash of atmosphere without doing much post-processing. The Fujifilm X100V's timeless body has top and bottom plates milled from single pieces of aluminium, which results in a refined and classic camera body with clean edges.

It handles like a real camera and is nicely sealed with a simple screw on filter that has no effect on the size. The Fujifilm X100V's offers the ability to record 4K video up to 30 frames per second or capture 120 frames per second at 1080p to create super slow-motion effects. Reproduction in whole or part in any form or medium without specific written permission is prohibited. We mainly shot with the X100V in ‘Fine + Raw’ mode, which gives you the option of playing with JPEG ‘Film simulations’ while having the uncompressed Raw as a backup. The simple yet intuitive controls make it a joy to use and the resulting files speak for themselves. This week we sat down (virtually) with senior executives of Fujifilm to learn more about the development of the new GFX 100S, plans for future lenses and what kind of a company they want Fujifilm to be. At the same time right now you are complaining that it doesn't have dust sealing, the x100v have dust resistance with a lens cap, not dust sealing, you can also add dust resistance to the gr lens with the new nisi filter adapter without increasing the size too much. I shoot with a Black Pro Mist filter on the X100V to add to the cinematic/film like (ish) feel - but for me, this camera really comes alive in low light situations and is amazing as a ‘carry everywhere’ camera!

The minimum focusing distance is still 10cm, but you can now feel more confident about leaving it set to f/2 to achieve some lovely shallow depth of field. The X100V comes with some significant changes, but still follows the basic formula its predecessors have followed for the last decade. Filmmakers needing extreme color fidelity can record 10-bit, 4:2:2 color externally via the HDMI port and leverage Fujifilm’s advanced color reproduction technology, to apply Film Simulations, like Eterna, to their video footage. Zoomed images don't fill the 4:3 aspect-ratio electronic finder; they only fill the top 3:2 aspect-ratio section while leaving the bottom black.Better video, much better lens selection (X-T30), better sensor (dynamic range, high iso) and I would argue about AF as well. It’s also a slight shame that the built-in ND filter, which you can use in stills mode to help get shots in bright sunlight when you hit the upper 1/4000 limit of its mechanical shutter, doesn’t seem to be available in video mode. You talk as someone that never used the camera, and I don't undestand why you bash it while praising the x100v. The former has been fixed with the X100V, but the latter still keeps me on edge whenever I’m shooting a wedding with the camera. X100V’s vastly improved hybrid viewfinder enables image-makers to quickly and easily choose between the 0.

This is very useful for street photography, allowing you to shoot from the hip or above your head to get angles that aren’t possible on previous X100 cameras or smartphones. It's a small body so slow heat dissipation is understandable, but being indoors in an AC environment and still having heat issues, just won't work for me. Build quality is overall very high, but the multipurpose SS/ISO dial feels as well built as my son's Lego, and the on/off switch gets knocked to on way to easily, leading to overheating and battery drain, already issues in their own right, whether shooting stills or video. Incredibly beautiful skin tones under any lighting; Fujifilm's skin tones are the best in the business. In fact, it has few rivals in the looks department, aside from minimalist rangefinders like the Leica Monochrom M.The standard number of images that can be made per charge has significantly improved from previous generations.
