It works just fine for printing etchings and relief prints, however it is limited by its size, printing to a maximum of approximately 14 x 18 cms. These A2 and 5" x 7" embossing folders are specially designed with a gap in the folder hinge so that you can emboss longer strips of material. I don’t really see this as a problem because I’ve been able to find a lot of compatible dies on Scrapbook.

This is not really a problem, but it’s misleading to the eye when you’re trying to line up the paper and embossing folder.While you can use your Cricut Explore or Maker to emboss (just check out this tutorial by Clever Someday to find out how), embossing with the Cuttlebug is very straightforward. Besides the Gold Adhesive Foil and the Plates, Mat, and “Thank You” die that came with the Cuttlebug, I also used a small notebook and my Cricut Essential Tool Set to trim down the foil and to weed out the little holes in the “o” and “a” after it was cut. This will guarantee a quality embossed image once you have processed the folder through the machine.
