About this deal

This awesome building toy for kids also includes Darth Vader,Imperial Officer and Luke Skywalker LEGO minifigures with lightsabers and a blaster pistol. I say this because the seating configuration inside the cockpit replicates ROTJ, but it’s pretty cramped in there both for head room and leg room. The elegant design of the shuttle is beautifully recreated in LEGO® bricks, with an opening minifigure cockpit, opening main compartment with space for 2 LEGO minifigures, foldable wings for flight and landing mode, plus 2 stud shooters.

This again, IMO, detracts from the displayability when showing the model in the landed configuration. Like I mentioned before, try to build the Imperial Shuttle in an open space as you will be working from many different piles of bricks and you don’t want them to get mixed up. Other features of the ship is there are a couple of double laser cannons and double blaster cannon near the front. There are four instruction booklets included in a polybag with a cardboard backing so the booklets wouldn’t get wrinkled. Weapons include 2 blasters for the Imperial Death Troopers, Krennic's blaster, Bodhi's blaster pistol and Pao's blaster rifle.Care HAS to be taken when fitting the wing light cables, I pinched one of the cables while rejoining the wing section resulting in one light not working, using my finger nail for a gap measure I traced the problem and got the light working . To see what Lego churns out year after year, and to take something like Star Wars and pump out set after set both for the kids to play with and for the modelers to build just blows me away. The memorable rear engines are lit up with our 12cm Light Bar - the custom components' 76 individual LEDs give off a powerful and consistent glow.

It is built with lots of beams, which thankfully do not have a lot of colour difference between them. As critical as I may seem of some of the aesthetic drawbacks, the wannabe engineer in me loves building these things. Trihederal wing tips light up and signal with an ominous blink, true to the shuttle's on-screen sightings thanks to our Blink Effects Board! would like to have had the escape-pod function as a standard, but apart from that, I think it looks great! In the landed configuration the model does sit on two legs as seen in the films (now included in the ESB:SE) and balances very well. I think including this would have been much more desirable had they been able to design a gear box that could operate both wings off of one crank.

Light My Bricks Pty Ltd - United Kingdom Distribution: 148 Caistor Road, Laceby, DN377JG, United Kingdom | All Rights Reserved | Light My Bricks ™ sell LED lighting kits only. Although there is a landing gear included, the display stand with the description plaque is where you want it sitting on. It has sat in my Star Wars room for many years built of of the box, adding LMB light kit totally transforms this set and brings it alive. Measures over 17” (45cm) high, 9” (25cm) long and 22” (56cm) wide in flying mode, and over 12” (33cm) high, and 7” (18cm) wide in landing mode. They have a couple of diagrams, and a bunch of text written in Aurabesh, the font for Galactic Basic in Star Wars.

I would totally recommend it to anyone who is a Star Wars fan if you have the money to shell out for it. The Imperial Shuttle features an opening minifigure cockpit, opening main compartment with space for 2 LEGO® minifigures, foldable wings for flight and landing mode, plus 2 stud shooters. There’s also an opening access hatch, opening centre section with space for more minifigures and 2 cool spring-loaded shooters to fend off any pursuing Imperial starships! Having built this design I will admit that it may have been difficult to raise the cockpit or include a boarding ramp, but to be able to have a mini-figure appear to come down the ramp would have really knocked this model out of the park from a displayability perspective. Not quite sure what this extra minifig's purpose is in this set, I think he'll swiftly join his band of brothers for more exiting adventures. I am both in awe of, and jealous of the Lego designers who lock themselves in a room and pull these models out of seemingly thin air. The display stand is also surprisingly stable considering how few pieces it is comprised of compared to previous stands for smaller models.Unless otherwise stated, all content not covered by The LEGO Group's copyright is © 2017-2024 iDisplayit.
