The third generation of the Nikkor 18-55mm was the first-ever lens in the Nikon line-up featuring the new AF-P technology.

Part of Nikon's new P series of lenses, it uses a pulse motor (utilising stepping motors) for ultra-fast, near silent autofocus and two Aspherical lens elements for outstanding optical performance.
