About this deal

Sorry I went off on a tangent, I just get really emotional when my favourite characters reach a milestone in development. They never had a moment of looking at each other with the weight of new memories on their backs, and they never even talked about their shared history other than “do you remember me?

But the more you learn about him, the more you see his will to change, the more you realize his development arc was ignited by the hope Juliette gave him, but wasn’t because she wouldn’t be with him otherwise—that’s when you realize Aaron found his humanity again because he wanted to. Second, I wanted Juliette to have a longer and/or more meaningful discussion of why she didn’t want to go by Juliette anymore. I understand Nazeera, or even Warner, considering her Ella, but everyone else being so quick to jump on board just felt really icky because it was like they were deciding who she was without her being there or her consent. The reason he had to keep wiping their memories was because it didn't matter how many times he reset the story or remade the introductions - Aaron always fell in love with her. While it may not be the thrilling, action-packed book I expected, I can’t wait to see where it goes next.My favourite thing about this book (other than Warnette’s memories, of course), is how Tahereh wrote Aaron’s development. She was born in a small city somewhere in Connecticut and currently resides in Santa Monica, California with her husband, fellow author Ransom Riggs. All of the memories that Ella and Aaron share in this book, which are memories that have been “removed” by the Reestablishment, show the level of abuse they both went through under Anderson. Emmaline was able to use her owners to help other people get their memories back and bring them all together as well so they could finally defeat The Reestablishment.

The consistent upward trend also defies experts’ expectations that women would bear a disproportionate share of the pandemic’s economic cost. The book did not progress as I hoped and it has left me thinking on whether the Shatter Me series should have stayed a trilogy. A thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love, the Shatter Me series is a must-read for fans of dystopian young adult literature – or any literature! I’m excited to see how this series ends and I hope we see our favorite characters with happy endings… I hope. I'm adrift, suspended in a pool of senselessness, currents pushing me to the surface of something--an emotional revelation--that trembles into existence only to evaporate, seconds later, as if it might be terrified to exist.

I love that even when you think you know where Tahereh is taking the story she complete shocks and surprises you with the direction she does go in.An unmissable tale of lost empire, enemies-to-lovers romance, political intrigue and forbidden magic. Right now I’m nothing but pain and exhaustion and raw emotion, and I don’t have the bandwidth for another serious conversation.
