Description

We also learn of humanity's evolution, the different environmental circumstances which our ancestors had to survive and what has changed until now (this, the Holocene, is the gentlest era thus far). This is a must-read book for environmentalists or anyone who loves to read books about our planet and its biodiversity. An intimate, urgent and impassioned book borne out of a lifetime's experience and knowledge, it will also present his view on the future that lies ahead if we continue as we are, and a plan for how to avoid that future. This is a great book I thoroughly enjoyed by a man I have the utmost respect for since I grew up watching his programs and learning a lot about the natural world.

But as there's still positive growth, the petri dish is getting crowded as there's more competition for the few remaining nutrients.I've seen both ends of the spectrum when it comes to awareness of what is happening and the impact of our choices in our daily lives on the planet that we live in.

James Bradley of The Sydney Morning Herald found the book "extremely powerful", writing that Attenborough "captures the accelerating ruination of the planet in the starkest possible terms".

It gives a good overview of the things that can be done to make the world a better place again, is highly readable, informative, inspiring, and comes from the heart.

There's also the excellent audiobook read by the author himself, as well as a new documentary available on Netflix for those less inclined to read. However, as an introduction to some of the current environmental challenges, I think this offers a pretty good overview. Es una lectura muy ligera que ayuda a comprender la importancia de cuidar la naturaleza a través de los ojos de David Attenborough.Their sight, their hearing, their sense of smell are so similar to ours that they see the world in much the same way as we do.

The peculiar thing about this is how these people that were on either side of this debate, the people that would argue the loudest about climate change, could unite in their common dislike of David Attenborough. This book is what it says it is; Sir David Attenborough's witness statement of our planets last 80-odd-years. Wie der deutsche Titel es schon sagt: David Attenborough ist wohl der berühmteste und angesehenste Naturfilmer der Welt.

We then see how he joined the BBC and as a naturalist and broadcaster traveled the world to bring animal and plant life on Earth into people’s living rooms.
