The 2100 mAh battery which Anbernic claims lasts up to 5 hours. In our tests with Tekken 3 on the PS1 we got 3 hours 3 minutes which is very good. Less demanding systems should be closer to the 5 hour mark. RG35XX OS & UI Overview The RG35XX is an amazing budget retro gaming handheld that plays many of your favourite classic consoles. Combined with a quad-core PowerVR SGX544MP GPU, it is as powerful as the other 4th generation gaming consoles. The 256MB DDR3 RAM is more than enough for the OS and emulator for the gaming consoles it supports. But emulation on the RG35XX retro gaming handheld is overall pretty good, it plays PlayStation 1 with no apparent issues. However, I would have liked to have seen if frame skipping is definitely used on some of the emulators, and the option to disable it. It can be annoying seeing normal and sped up character movements in games. RG35XX or Miyoo Mini?

Anbernic RG35XX is powered by an Actions ATM7039S 4-core processor, allowing you to play most of the retro games on its 3.5” IPS display. It is a mini handheld that can emulate PS1, CPS, FBA, NEOGEO, GBA, GBC, etc. games and comes at a competitive price. It’s not the most powerful handheld out there, but what it does come with plays very well indeed. The only complaint I have is about the sloppiness of information about system-updates. Most is available on win.anbernic.com, though I only found the latest Android-version (v1.11E at the time) on a YouTube-video for a different device, but the description of the link said v1.10E. Same with the links on win.anbernic.com, which are partly wrong or have a wrong description. For example, the link for the Android-version 1.10E, was the same link as for the Linux-variant. I would wish for more diligence in creating the information and a bit more structure. As a developer and techie, it was doable for me, but still took quite a while to figure out what is what and where to find it. I bet there's less tech-savvy people, who love to enjoy their retro-handheld, but have problems updating there system. There's reddit, there's YouTube, but I'd prefer to have less of a hassle from the official source. We finish our RG35XX review with our thoughts on the emulator handheld and is it worth buying compared to the Miyoo Mini. We need to keep in mind that the RG35XX is a budget retro handheld, with most other handhelds costing double the price of this one. So let’s go over what we liked and didn’t like.
