About this deal
Mario Valentino founded the brand in Naples in 1952, following in the footsteps of his father, who was already considered the most famous Italian cobbler in the 1920s and supplied high society customers. From the very beginning, Mario Valentino designed products that were very different from those of his father: while Vincenzo Valentino preferred classic looks, his son experimented with extravagant styles and unusual forms. In the mid-60s, the designer added bags to his range, and since then they are an important part of the product range. In 1960, another Italian company appeared on the fashion scene: Valentino Garavani founded his label in Rome. Despite the similarity of the brand names, the two companies are independent. Decades after the label was founded, the bags from the Valentino Bags assortment are still made according to the traditional methods that Mario Valentino developed in the 1960s.
