About this deal

Have them send you a close up picture of the front wheel / left side where the brake disk is. Other than the large brake disk which has it's own ROUND HOLES, there is an additional ring, smaller, that has a lot of little / next to each other / RECTANGLE holes in it. If you can't see this ring ... it is not an ABS. Casual observers might use the terms “wing” and “spoiler” interchangeably to refer to any aero element on the rear of the vehicle, but serious enthusiasts know the difference:

The holes didn't line up and the stuff is difficult to file. (Die grinder and a burr may be better than a file) They make use of a new IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor which feeds into the ABS system, telling the computer which way the bike is leaning on all 3 axes. The technology is similar to that found in most smartphones these days or computer controllers like the Nintendo Wii / Oculus Rift, it's just a bit more rugged to cope with life in a motorbike. Both wings and spoilers can also generate drag, slowing the vehicle down. Balancing the forces of lift and drag results in optimal performance.Motorbike and scooter models have been increasingly fitted with ABS since the mid 90s but until the mid 2000s it tended to only be found on the larger, faster and more expensive models as more of a value added feature than a standard safety measure. Anybody that says that can control the bike without it ... they never smashed their heads in to vehicle in front of them ... like I did. A lot of people don't know what it is or what it does. They put up the bike for sale and they brag about the ABS but they don't have a clue. Here is what you do. Using the extra data allows the computer to keep the traditional benefits of ABS but with added control to keep your line through a corner under heavy braking.

Of course, spoilers and wings also serve a purpose on non-racing vehicles…they look really cool! Top Brands A wing sits above the vehicle with space underneath for air to pass through. Compared to an airplane’s wing, the shape is inverted so that air pressure increases on the top. This “downforce” pushes the vehicle against the ground to increase traction at high speeds.

I am working on purchasing my first scooter. The wife thinks it's the start of my mid life, but we'll see. Hoping to get her to ride her own someday after we get out on the road together with this one. I've fitted 2 - strangely to the same inner wing (Someone ran into it just after I'd finished the job for the 1st time.) Got aero? If you need a wing, rear spoiler, front spoiler, splitter, or other aerodynamic element for your vehicle, the place to shop is right here! From circa 2010 some of the really expensive sports bikes (e.g. Yamaha R1) and touring bikes (e.g. BMW K1600GT) started to be fitted with cornering or "banking aware" ABS systems. NOTE TO SELF: I will never buy a vehicle that goes faster than I can run without the ABS...unless I start drifting at every curb, jump or join the circus.
