About this deal

Thank you NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for this eARC in exchange for an honest review. When you sent this to me and stated that you think I would love this, you are definitely right!!! Book Summary: From the publisher: Nova Porter isn’t looking for love, and she certainly has no explanation for her attraction to buttoned-up, three-piece-suit-wearing investment banker Charlie Milford. Maybe it’s his charm? Or maybe it’s his determination to help her fledgling business however he can. Either way, she’s distracted every time he’s around. With her new tattoo studio set to open in her hometown of Inglewild, she doesn’t have time for frivolous flirtations.

Stella and Luka have been friends for a decade. Both have always been into each other, but Stella is scared to change that as she has this fear that people will leave her. What if things don't work out and Luka leaves her? Luka, one of the constants of her life. The way I devoured this book. Ali Hazelwood can do no wrong. She served up a paranormal romance that is tender, lovely, funny, and achingly romantic. A soft boy alpha who cuts off the crust of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich who can ALSO wipe out an entire room of enemies????? Like. Do you need to know more about this book, you guys? Do you?

Did I read this holiday romance in the middle of April? Yes and, though I was given this awhile ago as an ARC, you can definitely still read this any time of the year. I believe this was self pub at first and it got acquired by a traditional publisher. I’m not surprised at all, the story and the writing are done so well. This was an immediate 5 star read for me, and I don’t know what to say for the other books yet but I do know how the writing can transport you into the story and lives of these characters. I don’t know if there will be a story (even novella) featuring Dane, but I would be first in line to read if there was/is. Stella and Luka’s story had me hooked from the start. The way they met was the most precious part of the story; how she desperately needed someone to be there for her and her quite literally jumped in and became just that.

The two main characters have been friends for years and both loved one another. It was cute seeing the two finally tell each other they loved one another and that they both felt the same way. Each book contains explicit sex scenes, so these books are pretty spicy! The steam is definitely not the focus of the book, but there are a few scenes in each novel so it’s found throughout the whole series. Each of these novels has a similar spice level.Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just came home for some hot chocolate, and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process. Leaning on other people doesn't make your achievements any less yours, La La. You can trust me to help you carry the load. You don't have to do all of this alone. I know you can take of yourself. You've been doing that as long as I've known you. But let me hold your hand while you do it, okay?” There is something for everyone with both the types of tropes and the spice level. B.K. Borison captures the essence of a small town incredibly well. I dare you to not want to move there yourself! And Charlie? Well, Charlie knows a good investment when he sees one. He’s hoping he can convince Nova he’s worth some of her time. Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just came home for some hot chocolate, and somehow got a farm and a serious relationship in the process. Will their fake love affair save Lovelight Farms in time for Christmas?

It’s warm, fuzzy and surprisingly streamy Christmas caper that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. Yes, it’s slightly predictable but I couldn’t care less, in fact, it was exactly what I needed. What's particularly refreshing about this romance story is that it's not just a superficial addition to the novel. The romance is woven into the fabric of the story, providing depth and complexity to both Stella and Luka’s characters. Their relationship is also a testament to the power of love and how it can help people through difficult times. A small-town baker learns to raise her expectations for love with some help from a handsome local teacher in this sunny romantic comedy. Thank you Rebecca for continuing my obsession with fictional men, you are an incredible writer and a beautiful person. It’s not an exaggeration when I say this book and this whole series are my favourite ever books. I love the characters and this town and the beautiful way Borison writes that has you yearning for more (and for Inglewild to be a real place). My mother specifically said that she doesn’t care if you’re unconscious at the table, just that you wake up in time for pie.” Lovelight Farms is the first in the series and we get see Stella and Luka's story, and their characterisation is just perfection. This story is full of all the genre's favourite tropes: fake dating, friends-to-lovers, witty banter, small town, holiday romance... you name it, it has it. These two are undeniably attracted to each other, but her life is traveling the world and his is a mostly solitary life on the farm. He’s convinced he’s not good enough for her and she can’t get her purpose in life figured out. Lines are blurred between their fake-dating and reality. Every moment between Stella and Luka felt so right. Like they should have been together forever. I loved how intricately woven they were into each other's lives. Beautiful love story! I really liked B. K. Borison writing style and loved the small town setting, which gave me some nice Gilmore Girl vibes.
