Description

The ointment does contain Dexpanthenol and Panthenol 5% (pro-vitamin B5), both have the known property to support skin repair. Bepanthen Tattoo is an easy to apply ointment for use on tattooed skin and is free from preservatives, fragrance and colourants. The petroleum jelly in Bepanthen is an emollient that maintains skin condition by restricting water loss from the skin.

Trusted by generations of mothers and grandmothers, the brand has gained a solid reputation over the years. Some people may not like using this because of the texture but if it’s good enough for a baby’s bum it’s good enough for us! Do not put any products over the tattoo during the healing process such as fake tan, scented moisturisers, perfume or make up. It’s presumed that if it’s safe for sensitive baby skin, it must also be safe for vulnerable freshly- tattooed skin. The formula with Pro-vitamin B5 creates a waterproof and breathable protective layer that provides the moisture level needed to help the skin to regenerate from within and to stabilise the natural skin barrier function. Bepanthen Tattoo Aftercare Ointment is carefully formulated and contains no dyes, preservatives, perfumes or parabens. Again, why using a tattoo specific product like Ink Nurse (or another high-quality one out there on the market) is far superior for tattoo healing than Bepanthen is. Bepanthen Tattoo contains provitamin B5 that helps support sensitive skin’s natural regeneration process. Put a thin layer of it over the tattoo – by thin I mean so you can still see the colour of the tattoo.

If you have any concerns about your tattoo and its healing process, feel free to contact us via any of the contact methods listed. This lack of awareness could potentially lead to undesired consequences, such as a longer healing time, skin reactions, or even fading of the tattoo. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. After the skin closes, apply a thin layer Bepanthen Tattoo Ointment by gently massaging until the ointment is fully absorbed. To do this you need sterile water (this means boiled water) and is best not to use the sterile water hot or cold or use saline.

Background information: stearyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol are white, solid waxy substances used in ointments and creams to form liquids into a stable and homogeneous mixture (emulsion). You probably have a product containing it somewhere in your house since it’s used in a wide range of cosmetic products. Such ingredients in Bepanthen may not pose any risk when dealing with regular skin conditions, but a fresh tattoo is a different story altogether. You may have heard some rumours that Bepanthen shouldn't be used on new tattoos, but this absolutely isn't the case. However, the question arises – is a product designed for nappy rash also suitable for tattoo aftercare? Whatever the design or location of your ink, Bepanthen Tattoo helps keep your skin looking healthy and feeling good.
