Would give it 10/10, but poor, imprecise, and vague documentation that requires an electron microscope to read. High frequencies are generally delivered with a good degree of clarity, although some recordings reveal a slight lack of focus and refinement. The AT100E is certainly more focused than the AT95E right across the frequency range, with a firmer bass and a sharper treble, uncovering noticeably more detail. Past articles say it takes a while for the stylus to break in and once it is broken in tends have an even better sound. We could never get the AT95E, even a couple of weeks old, to track without distortion towards the spindle/label area.

There's plenty of output, and full recommended saturation of the input stages of the computer or amplifier can be achieved with more than adequate headroom and moderate control settings, giving scope for variation to suit different input parameters in different audio cards or pre-amp input stages. Yet when tested on the Kenwood unit that it was originally mated with, the tracking ability with warped records was excellent at the recommended tracking weight and even at reduced tracking weight down to 1 gram! The AT95E/HSB provides outstanding overall performance for mid-range systems due to its elliptical diamond stylus and dual magnet setup, and comes preassembled with a HS10 headshell for a quick and easy set-up. Great tracking, clarity and better than my old Goldring 1012GX I had which majors on decent rhythm, but a little warmer tonally. I don't know if all styli will distort on my table in the inner grooves, as I've not yet tried anything else.Dynamics are good, and together with the weighty balance give the sound a sense of drama and scale, successfully conveying the emotion of the music – this is quite a departure from the polite, contained sound of the AT95E.

Hello, this is my first post here and I am wondering if anyone has any insight on the better option for my AT95e stylus replacement. By increasing the surface area contact and spreading the load, the stylus’ finer profile also does less damage to your precious vinyl collection. After acquiring a new elliptical stylus for the AT95E I decided to conduct a more extensive technical and listening evaluation. The AT-VM95 body also provides the opportunity to upgrade the stylus to more exotic profiles, providing a more scalable option than the AT95E. On the contrary, it is actually very nicely balanced, with the way the different frequency bands hang together being a big part of its appeal. If you’d rather spread the cost over 36 months, you can set up a loan repayment plan when the payment-free period comes to an end at 19.

So my ultimate recommendation goes like this, if you're stuck at 47 k, get an AT95E, but if you're able to tweak your phono input input resistance above 47 k, the M97xE (with the standard stylus) is fantastic.

For the AT95, I have the original 95E stylus, a 95EX stylus, an LP Gear carbon cantilever stylus (no model number marked on it), and a Black Diamond.
